DESCRIPTION :

Garuda is a blended wing body, payload independent small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for use in Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, Target tracking & acquisition, Battle Damage Assessment, Search & Rescue, Port & Coastal Patrol, Digital Mapping, Remote sensing, etc. It offers payload-independent functionality by virtue of its Modular Payload Lifting System (MPLS) with over 300 cubic inches of payload capacity in a hand launched UAV. Customers using Garuda can swap payloads in just minutes, in the field, allowing them to perform multiple missions using a single airframe. This saves customers time and money by maximizing their time in the air and reducing their airborne platform inventory. The UAV does not require launch and recovery assets and it offers the highest lift, greatest endurance and most rugged airframe for any unmanned system in its size class.

(i) Multi-Mission Modular UAV : Multiple, Interchangeable Payloads on One Airframe. Our Modular Payload pods allows clients to use one common platform for multiple missions.Our UAV is designed to accept payload pods and nacelles.Payload pods augments the airframe and extend the mission capability of the UAV system, enabling users to carry variable payloads and even swap these payloads in the field. That is a big benefit because it allows you to use different camera and sensor payloads without having to send the UAV back to the us for fitting a new camera to the airframe. For example, you can perform aerial photogrammetry with one payload pod, then swap out the payload pod and perform multispectral imaging - allowing you to identify and map pollution, chemicals. minerals and even vegetation health. You can swap to a thermal imaging pod and map natural gas leaks, water seepage and find and track people and vehicles in all lighting conditions. This means that your micro air vehicle is not only modular, but is also multi-mission giving you the ability to perform a wide variety of missions and experiments with a single air vehicle.Also Garuda does not require any tools for assembly. (ii) Radio Frequency (RF) Transparent : Our manufacturing methods allows us to create a UAV that is RF transparent. The platform’s low Radar Cross Section (RCS) and the ability to mount data link and payload antennas inside the structure of the aircraft offer benefits not found in most other UAVs.

(iii) Impact Tolerance : In designing our UAV's we know that the launch and landing zone can resemble the surface of the moon. Each landing will most likely involve a foreign object strike. It is a harsh and often cruel life out there for these small unmanned systems, and resin-based fiber reinforced materials do not hold up in these conditions.
