Abrasive Cut-off Machine (Chop Type)
This cut off machine is suitable for quick & clean cutting off metallographic specimens from Rods, Tubes or other irregular shapes
This chop type machine having a capacity for cutting samples from 2 ½ dia. round of 2” x 2” sq. stock. It is provided with 10” Dia. wheel and normally powered by 5 H.P 3 Phase electric motor, giving cutting speed of appx. 5600 s.f. pm for 10”dia. wheel. The wheel is covered by wheel guard for protection. The clamps are provide on a cast Iron stage. Located in a steel trough. A screw feed provides forward movement by means of hand wheel.
A motorized pump is fitted on a coolant tank of generous capacity. The coolent is delivered on the cutting surface in jets by means of a twin nozzle which is adjustable while the machine is in operation. It is provided with three stage filtration system incorporated in the machine, which prolongs the use of coolant. The machine is finished in corrosion resistant paint and chrome plating.
